Gene
Aug, Ph.D., CFRE
Vice President
Dr. Gene Aug has 35 years of experience in organizational
management, marketing and fund development in schools,
parishes and other non-profit institutions. His extensive
experience in student recruitment and public relations
includes his work with the Springfield Catholic Schools in
Missouri, where he initiated a recruitment and public
relations plan that resulted in an increase of enrollment of
more than 50% during a six-year period.
Gene has led in-depth workshops on recruitment and public
relations and has facilitated numerous training sessions for
boards, parish councils and administrators. He has been
called on by dioceses and schools throughout the Midwest for
consultative advice regarding enrollment and public
relations plans.
Since
joining Ruotolo Associates in 1991, Gene has worked with a
number of parishes, Catholic schools and other non-profit
organizations throughout the Midwest, Mountain States and
Mid-Atlantic regions. In a fund development role, Gene has
been instrumental in raising millions of dollars through
capital, annual and endowment campaigns. Gene’s major
capital campaigns include a $4.5 million capital campaign
for St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Rogers, Ark., and a $6
million campaign for Cathedral High School in St. Cloud,
Minn. He has worked in capital campaigns in a number of
Catholic churches and high schools around the country and
has recently completed a $3.2 million endowment campaign for
the Catholic school system in Springfield, Mo.
As
Vice President, Gene's responsibilities include operations,
sales and supervision of Midwest and Mountain State
accounts. His specialties encompass annual giving programs;
development program assessments; planning, marketing and
feasibility studies; and capital campaigns. He has worked
with churches, schools, hospitals, retreat centers, YMCAs
and many other local and national non-profit organizations.
In 1994 and in 1999, he received the firm's Culture of
Excellence Award.
Gene
received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the
University of Missouri at St. Louis. He received his
doctoral degree in educational administration from St. Louis
University. He has practical experience as a teacher,
principal, coordinator, director of schools and director of
development.
Gene
lives with his wife in Springfield, Mo., and continues to be
active in his parish and community.
